This vessel is the group’s 5th TESS35. Of the 30,000-ton class ships, TESS35 places priority on versatility and is thus compact in size with an overall length of 177 meters, giving it flexibility in the combination of ports that it can be scheduled to call into. Like the TESS58, it is equipped with four deck cranes. The ship has a hatch cover with a larger opening, and a semi-box shaped hold area that is also suited for transporting steel products, which makes it easier to handle cargo and enhances customer value by offering such benefits as improved cargo handling efficiency and ease of maintenance. Furthermore, TESS35 is an energy-saving ship with enhanced fuel efficiency, realized by improving the shape of the hull and by implementing energy-efficient technologies such as the MT-FAST2, which is a multiple-wing structure that is attached to the front part of the propeller to smooth out the water flow and improve propulsion efficiency, as well as TOP-GR3 propellers with higher efficiency and lower vibration for greater propulsion efficiency.
*1 MT-FAST was jointly developed with MTI (Monohakobi Technology Institute), a Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha Group company.
*2 TOP-GR (Tsuneishi Optimized Propulsive Gear) technology increases propeller propulsion efficiency. Precise computer-based calculations and simulations were carried out to develop an energy-saving propeller, with every detail from blade number, diameter, aerofoil shape, and blade geometric distribution optimal design for high efficiency and low vibration.
