ファンダメンタル投資家向け次世代RPAを運営する「Gyoseki」（本社：東京都港区赤坂、代表取締役：加藤寛之）は、Point72 Asset Management及びSCRIPTS Asiaのパートナー企業とUnion of Student Investment Clubs (USIC)と共に、2022年度Gyoseki大会の優勝者を3月8日(水)に発表いたしました。優勝を果たしたのは、東京大学のチーム「えーじぇんつ」、準優勝は早稲田大学のチーム、3位は東京大学のチームです。皆さまおめでとうございます。
当大会では、40 以上のチームがアナリストの役割を担い、上場企業3 社の収益とコスト・ドライバーを分析し、業績予想の精度を競い合いました。定性評価に進出した上位 8 チームは6名の審査員により分析アプローチを関連性・再現性・具体性の観点から評価され、公開情報の重要な要素を抽出し、正確に将来を予測する能力を示した3 チームが見事入賞いたしました。

大会でご活躍した20名はPoint72 Japanのオフィスで開催された半日の対面イベントに参加し、同社のシニア・リーダー、ポートフォリオ・マネージャー、アナリストから業務のノウハウを学び、本社で実施する新卒や若手社員向けアナリスト育成集中プログラム（アカデミー・プログラム）の一部を受講しました。さらにSCRIPTS Asia の創設者兼 CEO・エリック アボット氏とエグゼクティブ ディレクター檜木泰男氏、及び特別ゲスト審査員の産業創成アドバイザリー会長兼共同創設者・佐藤文昭氏とも交流し、業界知識を深めました。

Gyoseki Competition 2022 Winner: University of Tokyo Team Agents
Next Generation RPA provider Gyoseki, in partnership with Point72 and SCRIPTS Asia and with support from the Union of Student Investment Clubs (USIC), congratulate Team Agents from the University of Tokyo for winning First Place at the 2022 Gyoseki Competition. Congratulations to teams from Waseda University and University of Tokyo for finishing in second and third places, respectively, at the event on March 8.
Over 40 teams assumed the role of fundamental analysts as they analyzed key revenue and cost drivers for three companies. The eight teams with the highest forecast accuracy moved on to the Qualitative evaluation phase, where a panel of six judges scored each writeup based on three criteria: relevancy, repeatability and concreteness. The top three teams demonstrated their abilities to most accurately forecast the future by leveraging public information and focusing on important details.
“Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all the participants of the competition,” said Toby Bartlett, Head of Point72 Japan. “We hope you will leverage the experience and wish everyone a successful career ahead.”
About 20 top performers from the Competition participated in a half day event at Point72 Japan’s office, where they met with senior leaders, portfolio managers and analysts to learn about the business. They also received a sneak peak of the Point72 Academy program, the firm’s intensive training program that teaches new graduates and early career professionals how to be investment analysts. Students also had a chance to meet SCRIPTS Asia’s Founder and CEO, Erik Abbot, and Executive Director Yasuo Hinoki, along with special guest judge Fumiaki Sato, Chairman and Co-Founder of Sangyo Sosei Advisory.

In this Competition, with the goal to train the next generation of investors, participants made earnings forecasts for three selected companies, and compete on their accuracy and method. Participants of the competition gained real-world experience as they assume the role of fundamental analysts, who make earnings forecasts using available information as part of their investment process.
