「ジャーナリストがハンガーストライキと紙芝居で核兵器廃絶を訴える」
第二次世界大戦終結から80年を迎え、核兵器をめぐる世界的な緊張が高まる中、大阪の路上（大阪市浪速区恵美須東3-4-66）では、伝統的な伝承法「紙芝居」により、減食という肉体的な挑戦と表現で、そして国際的な連帯を生む、ユニークな草の根運動が展開されています。
大阪を拠点とする45歳のフリージャーナリスト、吉村大作は、2025年大阪・関西万博期間中、大胆な平和活動を展開している。彼は184日間、毎日紙芝居（制作：吉村 作画：ウクライナ避難民）を上演し、原爆被爆者の証言を語りながら、戦時中の市民の状態を追体験するため、4ヶ月間の自主的な断食（※食事量の大幅減）を実施します。
プロジェクトの主な特徴：
毎日紙芝居公演
– 2025年4月から10月にかけて、被爆者の実体験を英語で描いた路上パフォーマンスを実施します。
「No Nukesポーズ」Instagramキャンペーン※片方の拳が核兵器を表し、人差し指を立てたもう1つの拳がNoを意味します。
– アメリカ、フランス、イギリスを含む10カ国以上の市民が世界規模で共有する、象徴的な核兵器にNOの意志を示すポーズです。

4ヶ月間のハンガーストライキ
– 2025年6月13日から、吉村氏は戦時中の民間人の苦労を体現し、メッセージの感情的なインパクトを深めるため、食事を大幅に減らします。
紙芝居は109の言語に翻訳
– 主に学生のボランティアが、このプロジェクトの平和の紙芝居を109の言語に翻訳し、世界的な取り組みを可能にしました。

No Nukes, No Food at Expo 2025:
A Journalist’s Hunger Strike and Kamishibai (Paper storytelling) Protest for Nuclear Abolition
As the world marks 80 years since the end of World War II, and with global tensions around nuclear weapons again rising, a unique grassroots protest is unfolding on the streets of Osaka, Japan — one that fuses traditional storytelling, physical sacrifice, and international solidarity.
Daisaku Yoshimura, a 45-year-old independent journalist based in Osaka, is leading a bold peace initiative during Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai. For 184 days, he is performing daily kamishibai painted by a Ukrainian refugee— a form of Japanese paper theater — telling real-life stories of atomic bomb survivors, while embarking on a four-month voluntary fast to symbolically relive wartime hunger.
Key Features of the Project:
Daily Kamishibai Performances
– Street performances from April to October 2025, portraying real hibakusha testimonies in multiple languages.
“No Nukes Pose” Instagram Campaign *One fist represents a nuclear weapon, and the other fist with the index finger up means “No.”
– A symbolic anti-nuclear gesture shared globally by citizens from over 10 countries, including the United States, France, and the United Kingdom.

Four-Month Hunger Strike
– Starting June 13, 2025, Yoshimura will drastically reduce his food intake to embody the suffering of wartime civilians and deepen the emotional impact of his message.
Kamishibai will be Translated into 109 Languages
– Volunteers, mainly students, have translated the project’s Kamishibai into 109 languages to enable global engagement.
